Lyme disease, the most common tickborne disease in the United States, can cause fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. If left untreated, infection can spread to joints, the heart, and the nervous system.[2]
TickCheck™ can determine with 99.99% accuracy if the tick that bit you carries Lyme or 10 additional tick-borne diseases. Here's how it works:
Symptoms of Lyme appear days or weeks after the initial bite. Only tick testing enables you to determine if you were exposed to a tick-borne disease before symptoms ever appear, allowing you to discuss proactive treatment options with your doctor. Get your tick tested now!
Lyme disease is the most common disease transmitted by tick bites, and Ohio is a high-risk region. Symptoms commonly mimic influenza and arthritis, and may develop into serious neurological or cardiac conditions.

Helpful service for testing a tick we plucked from our puppy. Very transparent and timely updates over email/sms. Great turnaround time. The lab report format is also easy to parse.
Thank goodness for TickCheck and the service they provide. I live in an area with completely incompetent health care who had no idea what to do when I went to them with a tick bite, wanting to have the tick tested to see if it was carrying Lyme. So I went online, found TickCheck and did what no doctor in my area was able to do: have the tick tested. If you've been bitten, don't wait to see if you get sick. I highly recommend TickCheck.
We used to have a tick lab in our county, however funding was eliminated, and therefore so was the ability to test ticks locally for Lyme. I'm really impressed with the speed at which this service delivered results, with text and email updates letting me know what stage the testing was at the same day the tick was received. A full workup was completed approximately 30 hours after the tick was received. It is absolutely worth the price, and submitting the tick was extremely easy to do. The tick I sent in was positive for Lyme and I was able to fax this lab report to a physician to get a course of antibiotics immediately instead of waiting to see if or when the "bullseye rash" appeared. The sooner you diagnose and begin treatment for Lyme, the better the outcome, and this company was vital to making sure this happened as soon as possible. I'm telling everyone I know about this service!
This is the second time I have used TickCheck. The service they provide is invaluable, the turnover is fast, and the communication and updates are reassuring; when you are concerned about dealing with something like a tick that could make a family member very sick. Thank you TickCheck.
Easy to follow instructions for submitting a tick specimen. Excellent status updates via text and email (received, processing, results). Results one day after they received it. Hope to not need their services again, but if I do, they are my go to.
